Terms of Service

By accessing or using the One On One Plus platform (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the platform.

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account. Users under 18 may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information during registration and keep your profile up to date.

One On One Plus reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or pose a risk to the community.

Teachers: By registering as a teacher, you represent that you have the qualifications and expertise to teach the subjects you list. You agree to provide accurate credentials, maintain professionalism, and deliver lessons as scheduled. Teachers set their own rates and availability, subject to platform guidelines.

Students: Students agree to attend scheduled sessions on time, treat teachers with respect, and provide honest feedback. Missed sessions without prior notice (at least 24 hours) may not be eligible for refunds.

Both parties agree to use the platform's communication tools for all lesson-related correspondence and to refrain from sharing personal contact information to circumvent platform fees.

All payments are processed securely through our supported payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal, and Paystack). Prices are displayed in the currency configured by the teacher and may include applicable taxes.

A platform commission is applied to each transaction as displayed during checkout. Teachers receive their earnings minus the commission after the session is completed. Earnings can be withdrawn according to the payout schedule of the selected payment provider.

Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of the session date. Refunds are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Sessions that were attended in full are generally not eligible for refunds. In the event of technical issues caused by the platform, a full refund or credit will be provided.

One On One Plus reserves the right to hold, delay, or reverse payouts if fraudulent activity or Terms violations are suspected.

All content on the platform — including but not limited to text, logos, graphics, software, lesson materials, and recorded sessions — is the property of One On One Plus or its respective content creators and is protected by intellectual property laws.

Teachers retain ownership of their original lesson materials. By uploading content to the platform, teachers grant One On One Plus a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display and distribute such content within the platform for the purpose of delivering lessons.

Users may not reproduce, redistribute, or commercially exploit any platform content without prior written consent. Unauthorized use may result in account termination and legal action.

You agree not to: (a) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (b) harass, abuse, or threaten other users; (c) upload malicious software or content; (d) impersonate another person or entity; (e) attempt to gain unauthorized access to the platform or other users' accounts; (f) circumvent platform fees by arranging off-platform payments; (g) post false reviews or manipulate ratings.

Violations of these rules may result in immediate account suspension, forfeiture of earnings, and potential legal proceedings.

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

By using the Service, you consent to the collection and processing of your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

One On One Plus does not guarantee the quality, accuracy, or outcomes of any tutoring session. We are a marketplace connecting teachers and students and are not responsible for the conduct of individual users.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, One On One Plus shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration administered by a recognized arbitration body in San Francisco, California.

You agree that any claims must be brought individually and not as part of a class action or representative proceeding.

Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and One On One Plus regarding the Service.

Waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.

Assignment: You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.
